Termites are an ongoing concern for homeowners and we always need to be vigilant in keeping an eye out for any signs of termites and also environmental conditions that make your property more attractive for termites. We recently performed an inspection at a home in Murwillumbah. As you can see in the photo this large stump had a very extensive termite colony inside. The termites where located during an annual inspection where we were able to treat these termites, taking pressure off the building. When treating the termites in this stump you can see how many there were by the numbers coming back up the injection rod.
Timber Pest Inspections
Annual timber pest inspections are crucial to ensuring your home is not under attack from timber pests such as termites. Termites conceal themselves very well within voids and usually by the time the homeowner notices a problem it is too late. If termites remain undetected in a building for a long time they can literally destroy a home and it can obviously become quite expensive. The damage bill can and regularly does run into the tens of thousands of dollars, especially when structural timbers are damaged.
How to treat termites
A timber pest inspection will cover all readily accessible areas of your property – Internal, external, roof void, sub-floor and outbuildings (sheds, garages etc). Timber pest inspections take approximately 2 hours to complete on an average sized 3 bedroom home and our Timber Pest Inspectors will build a detailed written report on – Any visual evidence of timber pest activity and the extent of the activity and/or damage located. A summary of any timber pest/s identified and a brief description of the potential damage they could to cause to your property.
How susceptible your property is to Termite attack, by looking at elements in the environment of your property will make it more conducive to infestation and make recommendations for improving the environment around the property, making it lest suitable for Subterranean Termites and other timber pests. Once the timber pest inspection is complete we can provide you with a property management proposal plan that best suits your home to ensure that it is protected in the future against attack from termites.
